Deadpool (2016) – Best Superhero Movie ?

R | 1h 48min | Action, Adventure, Comedy | 12 February 2016 (USA)

Laugh Out Loud!! This has to be the funniest superhero movie ever. I did not expected Ryan Reynolds to be this funny. Was he always this hilarious? He gave a fantastic performance as Deadpool. Reynold had made Deadpool one of the most beloved characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Deadpool is a unique superhero similar to Wolverine’s ability to heal itself which made him even cooler. I would like to see a match Wolverine vs Deadpool or a crossover. That would be epic. With so many of popular superheroes being made into a live-action movie, would Deadpool be able to become part of the popularity?

Deadpool began in a fight scene where Wade as Deadpool caused a scene on a highway looking for Ajax (Ed Skrein). We saw some of his extraordinary abilities such as recovering from a bullet shot and slashing bad guys into pieces all while being funny. Also, the slow motion was pretty smooth. Until the part when Deadpool used his two swords to stab the thug and carried him up with both of his swords, that’s when the flashback began to tell us how he became Deadpool. Without revealing too much of the synopsis, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) had a happy life with Vanessa (Morena Baccarin), but later discovered he has cancer. Vanessa was worried about Wade and looking for ways to help him. Until one day, Wade decided to abandon Vanessa to try out the experiment to cure his cancer. As a result, the cancer was gone and he has incredible power, but his face was distorted. Now, he has to wear a hood to cover his face because it is horrifying to look. That’s why Wade/Deadpool was desperately looking for Ajax to find a cure for his face.

For me, Deadpool is an amazing adventure and comedy film where a person can laugh at almost every scene while seeing the character in bloody action. My favorite part is when Vanessa and Wade went to check his diagnosis with the doctor about his cancer. Wade was speaking in his head about how every time he looks at Vanessa’s face as if it was his first time. Meanwhile, Vanessa was asking questions after questions about ways to cure his cancer. I thought that was hilarious. The story and action are well-balanced without the generic box office hit elements. It’s not often a movie of this quality can be so entertaining. Especially when it’s about a superhero character.

Deadpool is a crazy and hilarious movie. From what I heard it is just as loud, violent, and crazy funny as the first film. Highly recommended to all hero fans all over the world. The quick wit jokes were smooth and effortless. Deadpool is available to watch on Amazon here or FandangoNow here

The Social Network (2010)

PG-13 | 2h | Biography, Drama | 1 October 2010 (USA)

The Social Network is a made up story about Mark Zuckerberg and the people he encountered which leads to the creation of Facebook. The truth is about friends measuring their worth due to money and betrayal. Because of this, it’s no surprise that friends end up arguing and leaving each other. Sounds like a passive civil war.

What makes The Social Network a great film is the dialogues between the characters. For some may sound logical and boring, but when you carefully decipher the dialogue, there is additional meanings implied in it. The film is filled with dialogues that make every conversation crucial and interesting which many present films lack in that aspect because they are afraid of not selling tickets. It would be no surprise if the film won an Oscar because there are some many underlying meaning in the film that is Oscar worthy. It’s definitely a challenge to create a great film without including action sequences, explosions and teenage love. I am sure The Social Network achieved greatness without those generic elements. I would have to say I really admire director David Fincher’s work because he did a great job with this film. The Social Network  is entertaining and refreshing compared to most of the best selling films.  Honestly, I did not have any expectation prior to watching this film. I guess geeky film can be entertaining after all.

Jesse Eisenberg did a great job delivering lines with ease. His best movie character to date. Also, co-star Andrew Garfield did an amazing job bringing in the emotional side of the film. Justin Timberlake should receive the most improved award in this film. His acting improved so much compared to his earlier films. Can’t judge him too much, he is know for his music.  Surprisingly, Armie Hammer played two characters as twins in the film. I was like wow, really?!. Hammer succeeded in distinguishing the characters really well.

The Social Network is definitely part of the Oscar Award conversation. I mean it does not rely on the generic elements of a box office hit film. The film succeeds in captivating the audience with nerdy conversation. (I am only joking) Highly recommend it. Watch The Social Network on Amazon through this link.

Back to the Future (1985) – Back to the Classics

Hands down, Back To The Future (1985) is my all time favorite movie. I do not remember how many times I have watched this when I was younger, it was a movie that made me felt good. Really enjoyed the electric guitar instrumental, especially when Marty goes back in time to do an impromptu performance.

Really enjoyed the action and suspense of this movie.  This film has been my childhood lifesaver because I was a hermit and stayed at home all day watching random movies. I believe this is easily one of the best movies ever made. Not much more to say. The movie has almost no flaws at all, and will not disappoint anybody who views it. A true classic that will entertain anyone even to this day because it can travel in time. Hahaha. Overall a truly entertaining, memorable and amazing movie with very few flaws. Back To The Future is one of the few films that I highly recommend to anyone.
